Due to high moisture and rising dampness, the original floor coating in the production clean room was subjected to blistering and was peeling off. The defective coating had to be removed in its entirety through shot blasting. In areas where there is high usage and heavy traffic movement, signs of abrasive scratches and wearing off of paint were obvious.

The existing coating was removed and replaced by Polygard® heavy duty mortar. The system is an efficient moisture barrier and is suitable for wet environments, and also resistant to chemicals and impact. Up till now, the floor has remained impervious to liquids and provides continued efficiency for the client. In the areas where traffic flow is necessary but was wearing out and damaging the original coating, a self-levelling system is proposed. The solventless system withstands forklift traffic, is chemical resistant and has a high gloss hygienic finish.
