APPLICATION

DESCRIPTION

3-ply chopped strand mat reinforced vinyl ester lining.

USES

Suitable for concrete floors, tanks, drains and sumps in heavy-duty applications in chemical processing plants, wafer fabrication plants, electronics and computer manufacturing plants, printing and packaging, pulp and paper mills and aircraft and aerospace industries.

APPLICATION

SUBSTRATE REQUIREMENTS / PREPARATION

  • Concrete floor must be waterproofed and graded to specified levels and falls.
  • Concrete floor shall be cured for minimum twenty-one (21) days.
  • Chip off all cement droppings and cement overpours.
  • Degrease oil/grease contaminants with industrial degreaser.
  • Shotblast surfaces to achieve suitable surface profile.
  • Remove dust with industrial vacuum prior to application of coating.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

  • Apply EP814 epoxy primer and allow to dry for a minimum of six (6) hours.
  • Apply by roller Vipel F010 base coat and lay one (1) layer 300gm chopped strand mat.
  • Apply by roller Vipel F010 first saturation coat and layer one (1) layer 300gm chopped mat.
  • Apply by roller Vipel F010 second saturation coat and lay one (1) layer tissue mat.
  • Apply by roller Vipel F010 third saturation coat and allow to dry for six (6) hours.
  • Apply by roller two (2) coats Vipel F010 finishing coats allowing six (6) hours drying time in between coats.
  • Allow twenty-four (24) hours drying time before opening to light foot traffic and seven (7) days for chemical service conditions.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Products contain epoxy resin and amines. Do not take internally. May irritate eyes and skin. Protective clothing and gloves are recommended to prevent sensitization to these materials. In case of eye contact, flush with soap and clean water and seek medical attention.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

POLYGARD® VSL 3100 Floor System should be applied by specialist applicators. Technical advice or assistance on suitability of system for specific application and end-user requirements are available from POLYMER INTERNATIONAL HOLDING PTE LTD.
